In just 4 seconds, this standalone device simultaneously scans and decodes both sides of virtually any state and provincial-issued driver's license, ID card or military ID. It can also read documents such as insurance cards, handgun permits and Matricula Consular IDs. The scanner reads all security features, including: magnetic stripes; 1D, 2D and PDF417 barcodes; photographs; signatures; OCR regions; and color and ink quality. It can even scan damaged documents and is equipped with a magnifier to view small document details.

The scanned, 24-bit, true color, 600 dpi images can be stored in a compressed format and compared against a comprehensive database for authentication.
